Kushner: No White House Return if Trump Wins

Kushner Defends Saudi Ties, Politics at FII

Jared Kushner, former senior adviser to President Donald Trump, has indicated that he has no intention of returning to work at the White House if his father-in-law wins November’s election. Speaking at a Miami event on Tuesday, Kushner made it clear that he was focused on his work at the private equity firm he founded in 2021.

During his appearance, Kushner also defended his business ties with the Saudi Arabian government, praising Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman as a “visionary leader.” Kushner’s private equity firm, Affinity Partners, received a $2 billion investment round led by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund in 2021.

Kushner, who played a key role in the establishment of the Abraham Accords in 2020, described the present team around Trump as “maybe the best he’s ever had,” with a lot of “very qualified people.” He contrasted this with the 2016 campaign, which he characterized as more akin to a family-run operation, noting that even Republicans were against Trump at the time.

When asked about the murder of journalist and dissident Jamal Khashoggi, Kushner refused to engage, asking, “Are we really still doing this?” He noted that he had not read the U.S. intelligence report that found bin Salman likely ordered the killing.

Kushner emphasized that his investments were done with laws and ethics rules in mind and pushed back on allegations of conflicts of interest. He called the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Saudi sovereign wealth fund controlled by bin Salman, one of the most “prestigious investors” in the world.

Kushner and his wife Ivanka have remained distant from Trump’s 2024 campaign, unlike some of Trump’s other children, including Don Jr. and Eric. Despite this, it is unclear if Trump will offer Kushner and Ivanka another White House role, as both were very close advisers during his last stint.

In conclusion, Jared Kushner has stated that he has no plans to return to the White House if Donald Trump wins the election, preferring to focus on his private equity firm. He has defended his business ties with the Saudi Arabian government and praised Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman as a “visionary leader.” Despite remaining distant from Trump’s 2024 campaign, it is uncertain if Kushner and Ivanka will be offered another White House role.
