Cyan Racing Unveils Stunning Volvo P1800 GT Restomod

Cyan P1800 GT-8

Cyan Racing, a Swedish automotive firm, has unveiled its latest masterpiece, the Volvo P1800 Cyan GT, and it might just be the most beautiful Volvo ever created. This stunning restomod is the second iteration of Cyan Racing’s work on the P1800, following the success of its track-focused predecessor in 2020. However, the GT variant offers a more refined driving experience, perfect for long-distance cruising.

One of the standout features of the Volvo P1800 Cyan GT is its luxurious interior, featuring exquisite sand-colored leather and fabric upholstery. The cabin is further enhanced by a titanium roll cage, which has been carefully modified to provide optimal comfort for both the driver and passenger. Unlike its predecessor, which was designed primarily for track use, the GT is intended to be a grand tourer, with a fully adjustable suspension system tailored for winding country roads and extended journeys. Additionally, the seats have been designed with touring in mind, rather than racing, and extra sound deadening material has been added to reduce cabin noise, further enhancing the car’s refined character.

The restoration and modification process starts with an original 1960s Volvo P1800, which undergoes a comprehensive restoration before being fitted with a wider, stiffer body shell made from a combination of steel and carbon fiber. This not only enhances the car’s aesthetics but also improves its overall performance and handling.

Powering the Volvo P1800 Cyan GT is a turbocharged 2.0-liter touring car engine, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Customers have the option to choose the power output of their car, with figures ranging from 349 to 419 horsepower. While Cyan Racing emphasizes drivability over outright performance, the GT’s total weight of under 2,200 lbs ensures that it remains quick and responsive.

Christian Dahl, CEO of Cyan Racing, expressed his excitement about the new creation, stating, “The new version highlights the versatile and almost endless tailoring options of the Volvo P1800 Cyan, adding another dimension to our interpretation of the original model.”

Although Cyan Racing has not yet announced the price of the Volvo P1800 Cyan GT, it is expected to be in the same range as its predecessor, which cost around $500,000. Each car undergoes a meticulous restoration and modification process, taking between 12 and 15 months to complete.

In conclusion, the Volvo P1800 Cyan GT is a testament to Cyan Racing’s craftsmanship and dedication to creating automotive masterpieces. Its timeless design, combined with modern performance and comfort enhancements, makes it a truly exceptional vehicle that is sure to captivate enthusiasts and collectors alike.
