Former President Donald Trump’s foray into merchandise has created a buzz, particularly with the rapid sell-out of his latest offering: a limited edition of high-top gold-colored sneakers. These exclusive shoes, priced at $399 each, were made available for presale on the website GetTrumpSneakers.com. Within just two hours, all 1,000 pairs were snatched up by eager customers, with a strict limit of three pairs per buyer. Kevin Mercuri, CEO at Propheta Communications, confirmed the swift sales, highlighting the high demand for the “never surrender” high-tops.
Each pair of these limited edition sneakers is uniquely numbered, and at least 10 pairs will be autographed by Trump himself, adding a special touch for lucky purchasers. Despite the association with Trump, the website is quick to clarify that the sneaker line is not political and has no affiliation with Trump or The Trump Organization. Instead, it operates under a paid license from CIC Ventures LLC to use Trump’s likeness and image.
In addition to the high-top sneakers, the website offers two low-top options: a white shoe called “POTUS 45” and a red “T-Red Wave” sneaker, each priced at $199. The site also sells “Victory47” cologne and perfume for $99, expanding the merchandise range for Trump enthusiasts.
This merchandise launch comes on the heels of Trump’s recent legal troubles, including a civil fraud case where he was ordered to pay more than $350 million and a defamation suit where he owes more than $80 million, totaling over $440 million in legal fees. Despite these challenges, Trump remains undeterred in his entrepreneurial pursuits, as evidenced by his latest merchandise venture.
Trump’s history of launching various merchandise, including digital trading cards and Trump Steaks, demonstrates his continued business acumen and willingness to explore new opportunities, even amid legal battles. The success of the gold sneakers underscores the enduring appeal of Trump-branded products among his supporters and collectors alike.
