Bungie Seeks Destiny 2 Player Input for Future Updates

In light of recent challenges faced by Bungie and the Destiny 2 community, Bungie has embarked on a mission to address long-standing player requests that have been lingering for years. Despite facing its fair share of ups and downs, Bungie has now opened the floodgates, delivering a slew of highly anticipated features and improvements that players have been clamoring for.

Among the noteworthy additions are a Horde mode, the return of classic exotic missions, cross-account power gains, the ability for friends to auto-power up to play together, unsunsetting every old weapon in the game, and the introduction of a shader favoriting system. These updates mark a significant shift for Bungie, which has traditionally been criticized for its slow response to player feedback.

Community Lead Cozmo has taken the initiative to directly engage with players, soliciting their input on what additional changes and improvements they would like to see. This marks a stark departure from the past, where player concerns were often overlooked or ignored.

While Bungie has made significant strides in recent times, there are still areas where the game could be further improved:

Unlimited Transmog: The current transmog system is seen as overly restrictive, with players expressing frustration over its limitations. Simplifying the system to allow for more freedom and creativity in character customization would be a welcome change.

World Drop Armor: While not as prevalent or annoying as before, world drop armor remains a point of contention for many players. Improvements could be made to make these drops more meaningful and useful for a wider range of players.

Armor/Weapon Encounter Chests: Introducing a system that allows players to choose between armor and weapon rewards after completing encounters in dungeons or raids would streamline the loot grind and enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Ping System: A highly requested feature, a ping system would greatly improve communication between players, particularly those who prefer not to use microphones. This would make coordinating activities and strategies much easier and more efficient.

Return of Missing Planets: While Bungie has made strides in reintroducing content that was previously removed from the game, such as exotic missions, players are eager to see the return of old zones and strikes that were deleted in previous updates. This would not only add variety to the game but also provide a sense of nostalgia for longtime players.

Tribute Hall: With the loss of certain features from Leviathan, such as the Tribute Hall, players are eager for a new space for weapon testing and experimentation. While not necessarily a return of the exact Tribute Hall, a similar feature would be greatly appreciated.

More Face Cosmetic Options: With the recent addition of the ability to change faces and genders, players are calling for more options and customization features to be added to the game. Many of the current options are outdated and have remained unchanged since the launch of Destiny 1.

New Gambit Maps: Gambit, while still enjoyable, is in need of new content to keep it fresh and engaging. Players are hoping to see the introduction of new maps and modes to revitalize this game mode and make it a more viable long-term activity.

New Onslaught Content: Onslaught has been well-received by players, and there is a strong desire for Bungie to continue supporting and expanding upon this mode. Despite being a free activity, players believe that it has the potential to be a major part of the game’s endgame content and should not be overlooked or neglected.

Bungie’s willingness to listen to player feedback and make meaningful changes to the game based on that feedback is commendable. These latest updates and improvements demonstrate a renewed commitment to the Destiny 2 community, and players are hopeful that this trend will continue in the future.
