Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison moved ahead of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on Monday to become the world’s seventh-richest person, as a rise in Oracle shares added billions of dollars to his estimated fortune while Nvidia stock declined.
Ellison’s net worth climbed by about $2.9 billion to $190.6 billion shortly after 1 p.m. EDT, according to the real-time billionaire rankings. Oracle shares were trading roughly 2.6% higher at about $151, lifting Ellison above Huang.
Huang’s estimated fortune fell by nearly $4 billion to $187.8 billion as Nvidia shares dropped 2.6% to approximately $218. The two technology executives now sit several places apart from the rest of the billionaires near the top of the ranking. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, with an estimated fortune of $205.8 billion, ranks immediately ahead of Ellison, while former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, worth about $156.2 billion, follows Huang.
Oracle’s stock has advanced during the past three trading sessions and gained 5.4% over the last five sessions. The recovery follows a decline to roughly $115 in late July, when the shares reached their lowest level of the year so far.
Nvidia has also rebounded from its July weakness. The company’s stock has gained 6.2% over the past five trading sessions after falling to around $190 during a three-month low in July.
Despite his move up the wealth rankings, Ellison’s fortune remains broadly unchanged from the beginning of the year and is about $2 billion lower than it was at the end of 2025. Oracle shares have fallen 23% since the start of the year, following a difficult stretch for the company’s stock.
Oracle’s shares reached their highest level of the year in June during a broader surge in artificial intelligence-related stocks, which lifted software and cloud infrastructure companies. The rally later faded, with Oracle shares hitting their year-to-date low in July after S&P Global lowered the company’s credit rating to BBB-. Oracle also took on significant debt as it increased spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Huang, meanwhile, has added more than $30 billion to his fortune since the end of 2025. Nvidia shares are up 17% since the beginning of the year, supported by the company’s substantial profit growth and continued demand for AI infrastructure. Nvidia has also established partnerships with Elon Musk’s SpaceX and SK Group.
