Gray Zone Warfare Update Adds Helicopter Tracking Feature

Gray Zone Warfare

The latest update for Gray Zone Warfare, Patch Two, has been unveiled, bringing with it one of the most sought-after features requested by fans: the ability to track a helicopter’s route and final destination.

This update marks the second major patch for Gray Zone Warfare since its early access launch earlier this year. Currently undergoing testing in the public test branch, the patch is expected to be released in the coming weeks pending successful testing. Among several new features being tested, one particular change has garnered significant excitement among players.

Since the inception of Gray Zone Warfare, players have been clamoring for this quality-of-life improvement. Waiting for a helicopter to pick you up, only to find multiple solo players have called for their own rides to the same location, has been a common frustration. With the new update, players will be able to click on a helicopter icon on the map to view its pickup location and final destination.

This improvement is expected to reduce air traffic congestion in the game, as players within the same faction can now coordinate their movements more efficiently. For solo players like myself, being able to check a helicopter’s destination will be a game-changer, eliminating the need to rely on communication with other players to plan meet-ups at drop-off points.

In addition to the helicopter tracking feature, the test version of the patch includes the addition of nine new landing zones across the map. These new zones aim to deter camping at existing landing zones and facilitate easier access to remote areas. Such changes are likely to be recurrent as the map expands with more content and optimized routes.

The update also addresses various technical issues, such as rubber banding, AI navigation problems, and instances of players being able to shoot through walls, along with fixes for helicopters getting stuck mid-air. The final patch release is expected to include even more fixes and improvements.

However, players eager to test the update should be aware of some known issues, detailed in the test patch notes. Despite a decrease in player numbers since its launch, Gray Zone Warfare continues to evolve rapidly. While it still has a way to go before reaching its 1.0 version, the current state of the game is already worth exploring for those who haven’t yet ventured into the gray zone.
