Newsmax reported its first quarterly profit since becoming a publicly traded company, posting record revenue of $54.1 million for its fiscal second quarter and marking a strong financial milestone for the conservative news network.
Revenue increased about 17% from the $46.4 million recorded during the same period a year earlier, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Newsmax reported $2.9 million in net income for the quarter, its first profit since the company went public last March.
Broadcasting remained the company’s primary source of revenue, generating $45.8 million during the quarter, a 21% increase from the previous year. Newsmax maintained its full-year revenue guidance of between $212 million and $216 million, with the company expecting higher fees and new distribution agreements to drive growth rather than political advertising.
Newsmax said Nielsen data shows its audience exceeds the combined viewership of CNBC and Fox Business during key portions of the day. The company also highlighted the large difference between its affiliate fees and those charged by larger competitors, suggesting that upcoming contract renewals could become a significant driver of future earnings.
Shares responded positively to the earnings announcement, climbing more than 7% Thursday to $9.49.
Newsmax receives approximately 39 cents per subscriber each month through affiliate fees paid by cable and satellite operators to carry the channel. By comparison, Fox News receives $2.67 per subscriber, according to Newsmax’s investor presentation. That represents roughly a sevenfold difference despite the networks having comparable household reach.
The company also has a developing relationship with Meta. Newsmax announced an artificial intelligence content partnership with the technology company last month that will make its programming available across Meta’s platforms. Under the arrangement, Meta can use Newsmax’s digital news material to support AI-generated responses to user queries across its apps and devices. The companies have not disclosed the financial terms, leaving the possibility that additional details could emerge in Newsmax’s third-quarter results.
Newsmax said its core audience consists of high-income consumers and high-net-worth retirees, a demographic that makes the network’s relatively low affiliate fee particularly notable.
The company’s stock market debut was one of the most dramatic recent IPO performances. Newsmax finished its first trading day last year more than 700% higher at $83.51 per share. The stock subsequently fell sharply and reached a low of $5.16 in 2026. Despite that decline, shares have gained 75% over the past six months and nearly 13% over the past month.
Founded by Christopher Ruddy in 1998, Newsmax currently has a market capitalization of approximately $1.2 billion.
