Epson Launches Three New 4K Laser Home Cinema Projectors

Epson has introduced three new laser-powered home cinema projectors aimed at movie enthusiasts and dedicated home theater setups. The new Home Cinema LS5000, LS6000 and LS7500 models expand the company’s lineup alongside its flagship LS11000, combining three-chip LCD projection technology, laser illumination, 4K/UHD imaging and high dynamic range support.

The three projectors are designed primarily for dark-room viewing and offer brightness levels ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 lumens. Epson claims contrast ratios as high as 1,000,000:1, with the LS6000 and LS5000 rated at 800,000:1. The company has tuned their optical systems toward cinema use rather than the higher brightness levels typically associated with lifestyle projectors designed for general living spaces.

HDR10 and HLG are supported across all three models. HDR10 content also benefits from Epson’s Automatic HDR Scene Correction technology, which dynamically adjusts the picture to make better use of each projector’s available imaging performance.

Installation flexibility is another focus of the new range. The projectors provide optical lens shift of up to 21% horizontally and 59% vertically. The LS7500 adds a Precision Short Throw Epson Cinema Lens, allowing it to produce images measuring up to 300 inches from a shorter distance than conventional projector installations.

Because the new models use LCD technology, Epson says they avoid the rainbow-effect color striping sometimes associated with DLP projectors. The company also notes that LCD projection maintains comparable white and color brightness, rather than reducing color luminance through the color-wheel systems used by consumer DLP models.

The projectors achieve their 4K presentation through pixel-shifting technology rather than a native 3840×2160 pixel panel. Epson’s approach is similar to that used by many mainstream consumer projectors and is designed to produce images with a level of detail approaching true 4K presentation.

Although primarily designed for movies, the LS5000, LS6000 and LS7500 also support features aimed at gamers. Their HDMI connections can accept 4K content at up to 120Hz, while the projectors can automatically activate faster response modes when a gaming source is detected. Epson says input-to-image rendering time can be reduced to below 20 milliseconds.

None of the three projectors includes built-in speakers, reflecting their intended use with dedicated home theater audio systems. However, each model includes Bluetooth 6.0, allowing users to connect wireless headphones for private viewing. One HDMI port on each projector also supports eARC, enabling audio to be routed to compatible soundbars and AV receivers.

The LS7500 is priced at $2,699.99 and offers a claimed 3,500-lumen brightness level, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and the Precision Short Throw Epson Cinema Lens. The LS6000 is priced at $2,199.99, delivers up to 3,400 lumens and carries an 800,000:1 claimed contrast ratio, along with a multi-element precision lens designed for clarity and consistent focus across the image.

The LS5000 is the entry model at $1,999.99, with a maximum claimed brightness of 2,500 lumens and an 800,000:1 contrast ratio. Like the LS6000, it uses a multi-element precision lens structure intended to improve clarity and edge-to-edge focus uniformity.

Epson says all three new Home Cinema projectors will become available by the end of September. Each model will include a two-year limited warranty covering full unit replacement, along with free technical support.
