Trinnov And Ascendo Debut Advanced Home Cinema Bass System

Premium audio companies Trinnov and Ascendo have introduced the latest version of their Cylindrical WaveForming technology, promising a major leap in bass performance for high-end home cinema systems. The upgraded solution, first introduced in 2025, is designed to deliver better low-frequency performance, particularly in square-shaped rooms where standing waves often degrade sound quality.

The companies will present the technology in a live demonstration at Audio Advice Live 2026, following the success of their award-winning showcase at the 2025 event, where they received the eCoustics award for Best Bass Response. This year’s demonstration will feature Trinnov’s flagship AltitudeCI audio processor, an Amplitude 16 amplifier, and the company’s Dante interface powering an immersive Ascendo speaker system built to highlight the German manufacturer’s latest subwoofer technology.

Unlike conventional home theater systems that attempt to correct bass distortions caused by standing waves after they occur, Cylindrical WaveForming is designed to prevent those waves from forming. The system achieves this by combining floor-level front subwoofer arrays with strategically positioned rear subwoofers, resulting in more consistent bass, improved transient accuracy, and greater listening uniformity across multiple seating positions while reducing the architectural complexity required by traditional planar audio installations.

The demonstration will take place inside the 25 x 25 x 8-foot Magnolia II room at the Sheraton Hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina. The setup will include four Ascendo THE18 Sub Passive Vented subwoofers positioned along the front wall and two additional units placed at the rear, all managed through Trinnov’s advanced room optimization system to create the Cylindrical WaveForming effect.

Visitors will also experience Ascendo’s low-frequency innovations through the THE32 infra sub, which reproduces infrasonic frequencies below the WaveForming range. Completing the system are 13 Ascendo coaxial point-source home cinema speakers designed to produce a precisely timed surround sound environment that can be enjoyed by multiple listeners without relying on a single sweet spot.

The audio presentation will be paired with a Christie Korus 4K1000-KS laser projector equipped with a 1.25-2.0:1 zoom lens, displaying content on a 135-inch Stewart Wallscreen Deluxe featuring Harmony woven material.
