RFK Jr. Campaign Allegedly Aims to Oust Biden: Report

Kennedy Election 2024

A report from CNN alleges that a key figure in Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign, Rita Palma, expressed a primary goal of the campaign to be the removal of President Joe Biden from office. Palma reportedly engaged with Republicans, suggesting a strategy to support Kennedy in Democratic states to reduce Biden’s electoral vote count. She argued that Kennedy’s presence in the election could alter the outcome, particularly in states like New York, where she claimed Trump could only win if Kennedy was on the ballot.

Despite the deletion of a video in which Palma outlined these tactics, she confirmed the content’s accuracy to CNN. The strategy she purportedly discussed involved reducing Biden’s electoral votes in blue states to prevent either candidate from reaching the 270-vote threshold. This scenario would then lead to Congress selecting the president, with Palma suggesting that a Republican-controlled Congress would likely choose Trump.

In response to the report, Kennedy’s campaign released a statement clarifying Palma’s role as a ballot access consultant, emphasizing that her views did not reflect the campaign’s official strategy. The campaign reiterated its aim to win the White House by garnering support from both former Trump and Biden supporters.

These revelations have sparked concerns among Democrats, who accuse the Kennedy campaign of prioritizing Biden’s removal over the broader goal of winning the presidency. The Democratic National Committee has long been wary of Republicans supporting third-party candidates like Kennedy to undermine Biden’s re-election prospects.

Kennedy’s campaign has been marked by controversy, including his switch from running as a Democrat to an independent candidate. He has faced criticism for his association with anti-vaccine sentiments and other conspiracy theories. Despite this, Kennedy’s campaign has made strides in securing ballot access, including the creation of a new political party, the We The People party, in several states. While Kennedy has qualified for the ballot in Utah, efforts are ongoing in other states, including Arizona, Georgia, and South Carolina, where his candidacy is supported by the American Values super PAC.
