Destiny 2: Major Buffs for Exotic Armor and Weapons

Bungie is gearing up for Destiny 2’s upcoming second episode, Revenant, where players will take on the role of vampire hunters, pursuing Scorn remnants and their leader, Fikrul, once again. As part of this exciting update, Bungie has announced a comprehensive list of buffs that are set to enhance the gameplay experience significantly. For players eager to dive into the details without wading through a lengthy 15,000-word This Week at Bungie (TWAB), here’s a breakdown of the most notable changes coming with the new season.

For Hunters, Lucky Pants now provides increased slide distance and sprint speed while wielding a Hand Cannon. Airborne Effectiveness for Hand Cannons is always effective, eliminating the need to match the Hand Cannon’s element with your super. Additionally, the Out of Luck cooldown will only activate after achieving seven stacks of PvE damage, though the maximum damage has been reduced from 600% to 450%. The Young Ahamkara’s Spine returns to its previous functionality, providing grenade energy on hit, offering 33% energy in PvE and 8% in PvP. The Blight Ranger armor allows players to cancel their Arc Super, dealing damage and blinding enemies. It now grants a tier 4 boost to arc weapon damage based on the number of projectiles deflected. However, it no longer creates Orbs of Power; instead, deflecting projectiles will provide super energy, thereby extending the super’s duration. Raiju’s Hardness has undergone a complete rework, where Gathering Storm now calls down lightning on nearby targets, jolting them and amplifying effects for allies. Defeating targets affected by the Arc debuff will recharge Gathering Storm energy.

For Titans, Icefall Mantle now allows players to gain a stack of Frost Armor for each rapid Stasis final blow, with each stack providing healing. The class ability will grant maximum Frost Armor, allowing sprinting, jumping, and Thruster use. The ability begins recharging immediately after activation, and the Stasis energy burst can freeze combatants and slow players. However, it will no longer boost Stasis weapon damage; players need a Stasis super for the Exotic effects. Cadmus Ridge Lancecap has no longer a requirement to use a Stasis weapon to trigger. Any precision hit made behind a barricade will create a Diamond Lance, and hitting a powerful combatant with this lance will spawn Stasis Crystals, not limited to just bosses and vehicles. The maximum Super energy gain for Ursa Furiosa/Spirit of the Bear has been increased from 15% to 20% in PvE. Cuirass of the Falling Star allows players to gain Super energy from melee final blows while amplified. The damage bonus has been slightly reduced from 2x to 1.55x, but base damage remains equivalent. Damage resistance has been set at 50% in PvE and 10% in PvP after use. Peacekeepers now grant a temporary SMG damage boost for dealing damage, stacking up to 100% over a short duration of one second, refreshing with each hit. Mask of the Quiet One allows rapid final blows and hits on critical health enemies to grant Devour if the player has a Void Super. Stocism will now allow the Thruster ability to work in conjunction with Spirit of the Horn, Alpha Lupi, and Hoarfrost.

For Warlocks, Ballidorse Wrathweavers has seen shatter damage increased by 100% regardless of who breaks the shards. There will also be more Frost Armor and super energy granted based on how many allies receive the Frostpulse buff. Skull of Dire Ahamkara allows Devour to grant between 1% and 4.5% super energy based on the type of enemy killed. Sanguine Alchemy marks targets for a 10% damage increase while in rift, providing a 4x Surge for weapons matching the Super’s damage type. Verity’s Brow/Spirit of Verity now gives the first stack of Death Throes a 40% grenade damage increase in PvE, up from 20%. Each subsequent stack provides an additional 15% damage increase, capping at 100% at five stacks. Finally, Speaker’s Sight will spawn an orb of power after healing allies six times in the Crucible.

In terms of weapons, Huckleberry will fully reload on kills and features Kinetic Tremors as a catalyst. Tarrabah provides 50% solar damage resistance in PvE and 15% in PvP when Ravenous Beast is active. Symmetry now gains a stack of Dynamic Charge on any kill, not just precision hits. Duality has had its Black Wings stacks reduced from five to three, but the buff duration has been increased from seven to ten seconds for maximum effectiveness. Bad Juju extends the duration of String of Curses from 3.5 seconds to 5.5 seconds, with a maximum of 7.5 seconds available via the catalyst. Its magazine size has been increased from 27 to 36 base and will trigger Cursed Thrall explosions more frequently. Ex Diris sees direct hit damage increased by 33%, with improved projectile stats, a +5 ammo reserve increase, and spawning a moth with two direct hits, which has had its cooldown reduced from four seconds to three seconds. Fighting Lion now spawns a volatile burst upon direct hits. Prospectors now spawn three powerful cluster bombs upon detonation, which deal more damage over a larger area. The maximum size has been reduced to six, while bonus ammo now increases reload speed by +50. Chaperone has Roadborn trigger on precision hits, with precision hits extending Roadborn by three seconds, providing a +20 stability and +25% reload speed when active, along with increased base ammo reserves. Lastly, Lumina has had its projectiles adjusted to function more like healing shots from Support Auto Rifles.

These sweeping changes aim to enhance the gameplay experience in Destiny 2, making the upcoming Revenant episode an exciting time for players as they delve into new content and strategies.
