BTS Matches Rihanna With 14th Billboard Digital Song Sales No. 1

BTS has reached another major career milestone after its song “Come Over” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, giving the group its 14th chart-topper and tying Rihanna for the third-most No. 1 hits in the ranking’s history. The achievement follows the wider release of the track, which was previously available only on the vinyl deluxe edition of the group’s album Arirang.

Released earlier this spring after BTS returned from a multi-year hiatus, Arirang quickly climbed to No. 1 on charts around the world. All 14 songs from the standard edition entered multiple rankings, while the album and its lead single “Swim” have continued to perform strongly in the months since their release.

The expanded release of “Come Over” prompted an enthusiastic response from BTS fans, known as ARMY, helping the song open at the top of Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, which tracks the week’s bestselling songs across digital platforms such as iTunes. The latest victory gives BTS 14 No. 1 singles on the chart, moving the group past its previous tie with Justin Bieber and drawing level with Rihanna on the all-time list. Earlier this year, “Swim” had already elevated BTS to match Bieber’s total after previously sharing the record with Beyoncé, Eminem, and Bruno Mars.

Despite BTS’ latest accomplishment, Taylor Swift continues to hold a commanding lead on the Digital Song Sales chart with 32 No. 1 hits. Her latest chart-topper, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” recently became her 32nd leader and also debuted at No. 1 on several other Billboard rankings, including the Billboard Hot 100. Nicki Minaj remains second with 17 No. 1 songs, while Drake ranks just ahead of BTS and Rihanna with 15 chart-toppers.

Beyond its success on the Digital Song Sales chart, “Come Over” debuted on five Billboard rankings this week. The track also entered at No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, extending BTS’ record to 44 No. 1 hits on that list. It opened at No. 5 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Global 200, and entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 69.
