Samsung Cuts Galaxy Watch 6 Price Ahead of Launch

Samsung

Samsung is set to revolutionize its Galaxy Watch lineup with a slew of new AI features in an upcoming update. As anticipation builds, Samsung is offering a substantial discount on the Galaxy Watch 6, possibly to clear inventory ahead of the Galaxy Watch 7 launch next month.

In the U.K., shoppers can now grab the Galaxy Watch 6 or Watch 6 Classic for £75 ($21.59) off, bringing the price down to £324.00 ($412.13). Additionally, Samsung is offering up to £175 ($222.60) trade-in value for old smartwatches, with Apple Watches being the most sought-after for trade-ins, especially the Apple Watch Ultra.

Rumors suggest that the Galaxy Watch 7, expected to be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event, will feature 40mm and 44mm sizes, similar to the Watch 6 range, and a new Ultra model with a 47mm titanium case. While the standard Watch 6 remains at full price, it may receive a discount closer to the launch of the Watch 7.

In the U.S., Samsung has slashed $60 off the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, with trade-in values increased to a maximum of $250, applicable for the Apple Watch Series 8 or Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Additionally, Samsung is offering discounted Galaxy Buds with the watches, reducing their price to $99 from $299.99.

Samsung is also extending its Galaxy S24 Ultra double storage offer, providing a 512GB option for the price of the 256GB model, along with enhanced trade-in values of up to $750. However, trading in last year’s Galaxy S23 Ultra might not be worth it due to recent AI updates. Owners of the S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro can receive $550 and $350, respectively, for their devices.

To make room for new tech, Samsung might further reduce prices of existing wearables. Alternatively, aggressive pre-order deals for the latest devices could include enhanced trade-in prices and bundled freebies, such as a pair of Galaxy Buds.

Current Galaxy Watch owners not looking to upgrade can look forward to new AI features coming via One UI 6, the first major update in a while for Samsung wearables. The update will focus on enhanced recommendations based on personalized health data, with new AI-powered skills for tracking sleep, health, and workouts more accurately. These new features might satisfy some users’ desire for the latest gadgets, so keeping an eye out for the update is advisable.
