Samsung Documents Reveal Galaxy Z Fold 6 Features

Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung is gearing up for the launch of its highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 6, with new documents offering a tantalizing glimpse into the device’s upcoming features. The revelations stem from the Chinese MIIT database, which oversees certifications for internet and wireless services. Manufacturers typically delay certification applications to ensure that the submitted hardware reflects the final product and to maintain secrecy around upcoming launches.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is widely expected to debut alongside the Z Flip 6 at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10th. The appearance of the Z Fold 6 in the MIIT database is likely just the tip of the iceberg, hinting at more forthcoming filings from Samsung.

Digging into the details, the documents disclose model numbers SM-F9560 for the Fold and SM-F7410 for the Flip, confirming that the Z Fold 6 will support dual-SIM functionality over 5G networks. This aligns with last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 5, which also featured dual-SIM support. In the US, the Fold 5 supported one physical nano-SIM and one digital eSIM, while other markets offered two physical nano-SIM slots.

Earlier leaks in June hinted at a similar dual-SIM setup for the Z Fold 6, in line with the information from the MIIT filing. Given the prevalence of eSIM technology in the US and its comparatively lower adoption in other regions, the inclusion of dual-SIM support in the Z Fold 6 is a strategic move by Samsung.

In addition to the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to unveil new additions to its Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds lineup. The event promises to be a comprehensive showcase of Samsung’s latest innovations in the foldable phone space and beyond.
