Ella Langley Reclaims No. 1 as Morgan Wallen Slips on Chart

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has returned to No. 1 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart, taking the top position back from Morgan Wallen after he held it for one week with “Been By Now.” The latest chart also features a major surge from Ariana Grande, whose new album “Petal” places four songs inside the top 10.

“Choosin’ Texas” climbs from No. 2 to the summit, giving Langley a 17th week at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs ranking. The latest move also makes the song the fourth-longest-running leader in the chart’s history, breaking its previous tie with Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s “Despacito,” which spent 16 weeks at the top.

Langley’s return follows Wallen’s debut at No. 1 last week with “Been By Now,” his sixth career leader on the chart. Three of Wallen’s six No. 1 songs have remained at the summit for just one week.

Wallen’s sixth chart-topper allowed him to break a tie with Travis Scott and match Grande’s total of six No. 1 hits. The two artists are now tied for fifth place on the all-time list of Streaming Songs leaders. Drake remains the dominant figure with 21 No. 1s, followed by Taylor Swift with 11. Kendrick Lamar and Justin Bieber each have seven.

Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” now trails only three songs for the longest reigns in Streaming Songs history. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” leads with 26 weeks at No. 1, followed by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” with 20 weeks and Wallen’s “Last Night” with 19 weeks during 2023.

Grande’s new album “Petal” has made an immediate impact across the 50-position Streaming Songs chart, which ranks the most-streamed songs across platforms including Spotify and Apple Music in the United States. She now has 32 top 10 appearances on the chart.

“Hate That I Made You Love Me” returns to its previous high of No. 3 after initially reaching that position when it debuted in mid-June. The album’s title track, “Petal,” enters at No. 4, while “Kiss Me” and “Stay” debut at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively.

Langley and Wallen both maintain multiple songs in the chart’s top 10. Alongside her No. 1 hit, Langley’s “Be Her” falls to No. 6, while “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” her collaboration with Wallen, slips one position to No. 7.
