Walmart Launches Budget Onn Google Home Security Cameras

Walmart has expanded its Onn smart home portfolio with two new outdoor security cameras that integrate directly with the Google Home ecosystem, offering a lower-cost alternative to Google’s Nest camera lineup. The new devices continue the partnership announced late last year, when Google introduced Gemini-powered features for select Onn smart home products alongside an indoor camera and video doorbell.

The latest additions include the Onn Outdoor Camera Plug-In, priced at $34.87, and the Onn Outdoor Floodlight Camera Hardwired, available for $77. Both cameras are part of Google’s “Gemini built-in” device program and are designed to work natively with the Google Home app.

The plug-in model features a compact design with an adjustable mounting arm that allows installation beneath roof eaves, on exterior walls or near entry points. It records 1080p HDR video, supports full-color night vision, includes two-way audio and carries an IP65 weather-resistance rating for protection against dust and rain. The camera is powered through a weather-resistant USB-C connection and features a permanently attached cable similar to some outdoor camera designs from Wyze.

For users seeking additional outdoor lighting, the Onn Outdoor Floodlight Camera Hardwired combines the same 1080p HDR recording, color night vision, IP65 weather protection and two-way communication with a built-in 2,500-lumen floodlight designed to illuminate driveways, gardens and other outdoor areas after dark.

Both cameras can be configured directly through the Google Home app, allowing users to access live video immediately after installation. However, several advanced features require a Google Home Premium subscription. The $10-per-month service unlocks cloud event history, continuous video storage, Gemini-powered AI event descriptions, searchable video history, daily summaries and Google’s latest camera automation tools. Without a subscription, users are limited to live viewing and a rolling three-hour snapshot history, with stored images automatically deleted after that period.

Google Home Premium is also included with the Google One AI Pro plan, which adds expanded cloud storage, enhanced Gemini capabilities and other Google services.

With Nest security cameras continuing to sell at higher prices, Walmart’s latest Onn models provide one of the most affordable ways to add outdoor smart security to the Google Home platform for users willing to rely on cloud-based services for advanced functionality. Both the Onn Outdoor Camera Plug-In and the Onn Outdoor Floodlight Camera Hardwired are available now through Walmart stores and its online marketplace.
