Drake has added another milestone to his chart career as his album “Iceman” remains at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a fourth consecutive week. The latest achievement increases the Canadian superstar’s total time at the top of the chart to 41 weeks, allowing him to move ahead of Adele and claim sole possession of ninth place on the all-time list of artists with the most weeks spent at No. 1.
The success of “Iceman” follows an unprecedented release strategy. Shortly before the album arrived, Drake surprised fans by announcing that three projects would be released simultaneously. Alongside “Iceman,” he unveiled “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour,” with all three quickly becoming major performers in the United States. Following their first full tracking week, Drake became the first artist in Billboard 200 history to occupy the top three positions at the same time, with “Iceman” debuting at No. 1, “Habibti” opening at No. 2 and “Maid of Honour” entering at No. 3.
While the companion releases have since fallen down the rankings, “Iceman” has continued its dominance atop the chart. The album’s fourth week at No. 1 lifts Drake beyond Adele’s career total of 40 weeks at the summit. The British singer-songwriter now sits in tenth place on the all-time ranking.
Drake is now within striking distance of another chart milestone. One additional week at No. 1 would allow him to match Morgan Wallen’s total of 42 weeks atop the Billboard 200. However, that tie is unlikely to happen immediately, as Olivia Rodrigo’s upcoming album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” is expected to debut at No. 1 next week. The release would mark Rodrigo’s third consecutive chart-topping album.
Despite Drake’s latest accomplishment, the top spot on Billboard’s all-time leaderboard remains far away. The Beatles continue to hold the record with 132 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Taylor Swift is second with 98 weeks, followed by Elvis Presley with 67. Garth Brooks has accumulated 52 weeks at the summit, while Michael Jackson stands at 51. The Kingston Trio and Whitney Houston are tied with 46 weeks each, ahead of Morgan Wallen’s 42 weeks, Drake’s 41 and Adele’s 40.
“Iceman” also marks another significant achievement in Drake’s catalog. The project became his 15th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 when it debuted atop the chart. That total ties him with Taylor Swift for the second-most chart-topping albums in history, trailing only The Beatles, who hold the record with 19. Among Drake’s No. 1 releases, only a handful have remained atop the chart for more than one week, and with four consecutive weeks in first place, “Iceman” now stands as the fourth-longest-running chart leader of his career.
