Netflix’s latest chart-topping series, “I Will Find You,” has quickly become the platform’s most-watched show, marking a shift from the recent dominance of true-crime documentaries, reality programs and stand-up specials. The thriller is based on a novel by bestselling author Harlan Coben and has drawn significant viewer interest since its release.
The series stars Sam Worthington as a father determined to uncover the truth about his supposedly murdered son. He is joined by Britt Lower, who plays a former journalist assisting in the investigation, while Milo Ventimiglia also features in a leading role. Unlike some action-heavy thrillers, the show focuses more on emotional stakes and mystery, presenting Worthington’s character as an anxious parent rather than a traditional action hero.
Despite its strong audience performance, “I Will Find You” ranks near the bottom when compared with other Harlan Coben adaptations based on critic reviews. The series currently holds a 65% score on Rotten Tomatoes, placing it below several of Coben’s previous adaptations. Among the highest-rated titles are “The Innocent” with a perfect 100% critic score, followed by “Stay Close” at 92%, “The Woods” at 89%, “Shelter” at 88% and “The Stranger” at 87%. Other adaptations include “Just One Look” at 83%, “Run Away” at 75%, “Fool Me Once” at 72% and “Safe” at 71%.
Although “I Will Find You” sits lower in the rankings, it still performs better than some recent entries. “Missing You” holds a 50% critic score, while “Lazarus” and “Caught” stand at 48% and 43% respectively. The positive rating suggests that the new series remains a worthwhile option for mystery fans, particularly those interested in Coben’s signature blend of suspense and twists.
The show is part of Coben’s long-running partnership with Netflix, which has produced numerous adaptations in multiple languages under the streaming service’s banner. “I Will Find You” is one of the English-language entries in the collection and continues the author’s strong presence on the platform.
Its reign at the top of Netflix’s charts could soon face a challenge. The return of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” for its second season is scheduled to arrive within days and is expected to attract significant attention. However, the broad appeal of Coben’s mystery dramas could help “I Will Find You” maintain strong viewership even as new competition arrives. With “Avatar: The Last Airbender” already renewed for a third and final season, the pressure on its immediate performance is somewhat reduced, leaving the spotlight on how long Netflix’s latest No. 1 series can hold its position.
