Alex Warren’s breakout hit “Ordinary” has reached another major milestone on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart, matching one of the longest-running No. 1 songs in the ranking’s history. The single has now spent 60 weeks on the chart and remains at the top for a record-extending 35th week, further cementing Warren’s rise from social media creator to Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter.
Released in February 2025, “Ordinary” became Warren’s defining hit and continues to dominate Adult Contemporary radio more than a year later. The chart measures audience impressions across U.S. radio stations that primarily play adult contemporary music, and the song has maintained its leadership for 35 consecutive weeks.
With its latest achievement, “Ordinary” ties The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” as the fourth-longest-running No. 1 song in the history of Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. “Blinding Lights” reached the same milestone after beginning its chart-topping run in late 2020.
The record could soon be broken again. If “Ordinary” remains at No. 1 when Billboard updates the chart next week, it will surpass “Blinding Lights” and draw level with Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” featuring Cardi B, which spent 36 weeks atop the Adult Contemporary chart beginning in 2018.
Only two songs have enjoyed longer stays at No. 1 than “Girls Like You,” “Blinding Lights” and “Ordinary.” Miley Cyrus currently holds the all-time record with her Grammy-winning hit “Flowers,” which accumulated 57 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1. Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” ranks second with 49 weeks at the summit.
Warren also appears twice on this week’s Adult Contemporary chart. While “Ordinary” continues to lead the ranking, his latest single, “Fever Dream,” returns for its fourth chart appearance and climbs to a new peak of No. 29. The song now matches “On My Mind,” Warren’s collaboration with Blackpink member Rosé, as his lowest-peaking entry on the chart.
